Alumni Association Hails Makinde, Oyetola Over LAUTECH’s Asset Sharing

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State

The Abuja chapter of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Alumni Association has hailed governors of Oyo and Osun states, Seyi Makinde and Gboyega Oyetola, over the resolution of the crisis in the university.

In a statement, the Chairperson of the chapter, Dr. Toyin Ajenifujah-Solebo, said: “We are glad to see that the impasse between the two states, which had disrupted the academic life of the students, is finally laid to rest and it will become a thing of the past.”

She said: “We appreciate the states for their efforts and sacrifices in supporting the university for 30 years until this point in the history of the school. This is a step in the right direction to redirect and ensure that the school returns to its glorious academic excellence.

“With Oyo State having full ownership of the school, we would want Governor Makinde to review the master plan of the institution and ensure that it is adhered to. The development of the school must be in accordance with the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers.

“We commiserate with the governor on the death of his mother, Mama Abigail Makinde. We pray for the governor and the family to be comforted at this trying time.”

The Publicity Secretary, Femi Ajiga, said the workforce of the institution should do everything within their power to ensure that the school returns to the path of excellence.
