A cross section of candidates in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has applauded extension of the ongoing registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, by two weeks.
The candidates said on Monday, in Abuja that the extension would benefit both students and candidates to prepare well for the exam.
“I am happy for this development because it will give me the opportunity to obtain my pin and conclude my registration on time. I know many students that are yet to obtain their pin due to network challenges but now they have rest of mind. They have enough time to register,” one of the candidates said.
Another candidate described the extension as a huge opportunity that would allow many students to participate and write the 2017 exam.
According to him, the gesture would give students enough time to study and prepare for the JAMB examination.
“I am happy for hearing this information. It will allow me to prepare myself and study hard. This is great and I thank JAMB for this new development.”
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, at the weekend, extended the ongoing registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination, UTME by two weeks.
It also postponed the 2017 UTME scheduled to start on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Under the new arrangement, the examination is to start on Saturday, May 13 to Saturday, May 20.
The Board said the postponement of the mock was due to the failure of its technical partners.
The Registrar of the Board, Is’haq Oloyede, also apologised to candidates for the sudden changes.
