One Abizo Precious Idowu, 21, from Imo state and his run-away accomplish have made N216, 000 from 180 JAMB candidates in Maiduguri, Borno state before he was arrested by operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) in the state.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, Borno NSCDC commandant dropped this hint yesterday saying the fake Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the centre operated by the suspects, located at Kawu Shopping Complex along Lagos Street was defrauding applicants.
His words: Operatives of the corps have arrested one Abizo Precious Idowu, a 31-year-old from Imo who had collected N1, 200 each to register about 180 students under the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
“Without any doubt, the command had discovered that the Computer Based Test Centre (CBT) is fake. Even the server is for Abia state.
“His accomplices are on the run but the command is doing all it can to track them.
“We will make sure he refunded all the money he collected from the students while he will be made to face the law.
“We (NSCDC) therefore warned JAMB applicants to be wary of fraudsters disguising as JAMB facilitators,” the commandant said.
