As part of its Social Responsibility Initiatives, SRI, the Lagos/Ogun Chapter of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, NSChE, (a Division of Nigerian Society of Engineers), recently visited and made donations to the Home of God’s Grace Orphanage in Lagos.

The executive and other members of the society, led by its Chairman, Dr Kamilu Oyedeko, visited the home to show appreciation for the excellent work being done there.

On hand to receive the group was the home representatives, Mrs Oluseyi  Adeoti and Ms Anjeoreoluwa Boluwajoko.

In his address, Dr Oyedeko noted that NSChE made it a point of duty to give back to society in her own little way and was very impressed with the home’s work, particularly the children’s education and welfare.

“We may not know or show enough appreciation for what you put in, in terms of time, efforts, and resources, still, we pray Almighty God to continually uphold and grant you the grace to excel in your vision irrespective of the economic chaos caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” the Chairman said.

He also added that the society during the heat of the pandemic last year made similar visits to some clusters within the Ikeja axis and donated valuable materials to the community members, as palliatives to support them.

Responding on behalf of the home, Mrs Adeoti appreciated the society’s kind gesture, noting that the home had recorded tremendous growth and achievement. She enjoined the society to always keep them in mind both in prayers and future visits, even as she received the educational materials and household items donated.

Other members of the society in attendance were the Chapter’s Vice Chairman, Engr. Olusegun Sodeinde; Secretary-General, Engr. Zaid Ibrahim; Publicity Secretary, Engr. Adeyombo Adewale; Mrs Nkechi Louise, Dr Edith Alagbe, and some student members of NSChE, Lagos/Ogun Chapter.
