A Wife, Mother of 4 and Full-Time Worker Emerged the Best Graduating Student for Direct-Entry Conversion Programme at the Bells Varsity’s 11th Convocation Ceremony

Nancy Tongo

Mrs. Nancy Tongo, who studied Business Administration (Option: Human Resource Management) meritoriously obtained 4.94 CGPA and is being recognized as the best overall graduating student.

She is a rare gem. While her beauty is irresistible at first sight, her character and intelligence are unmatchable.

As an HND graduate even with Masters in Business Administration (MBA), she considered the opportunity for the Direct Entry Programme when the University kick-started it as a chance to resolve the skewed narrative and dichotomy that exist between B.Sc and HND certificates in the labour market.

According to her, “When the opportunity beckoned on me, the demands of a wife, mother with 4 kids and a full-time worker with extensive administrative responsibilities, became the “Almighty Mountain before Zerubbabel”. It was a tough call. The glory of acquiring a B.Sc was very appealing and attractive, but the inherent challenges were practically daunting.

“While a degree is a wonderful personal asset in the world, acquiring such an asset at this time and age, gives it a highly estimable value. With all sense of humility, permit me to state that regular Degree Programme in Bellstech is tough, but the Direct-Entry Programme is tougher, and arguably so”, she added.

It took her “blooded” sacrifice of time and resources to get here today. This is an act not only of personal determination and commitment but also of great pride.

Today is indeed a historic and a major milestone of her life and for the University.

She has practically demonstrated that-“once there is a will, there will be away.”

She is not resting on her laurel, and I am reliably informed that she has already enrolled for M.Sc in Management.

True to her words, as she remarked, “The pursuit of knowledge is an exciting and endless journey, but not attainment.”

Congratulations to Mrs. Nancy Tongo on this well-deserved outstanding academic achievement.

Congratulations to Bellstech for a successful Convocation Ceremony today.
