Comrade Ijanusi who is a graduate of AAUA maintained that Drug Abuse is eating deep into the youths and a proper campaign against it will awake their (the youths) minds.

The convener of the campaign, Miss Funmi Olorunfemi in her words said the walk was to orientate and create awareness of the danger of drug abuse among the students.

She said “we convey this walk to create awareness about this menace of drug abuse. The parents should caution their children and listen to them verbally or non-verbally. Our youths must say no to drug abuse.”

Miss Olorunfemi who is a staff at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration (NAPPAS) disclosed that “the campaign is a war against the menace that is really affecting the youths and AAUA is against drug abuse, we do not endorse it”.

Another staff of the University, Mr. Louis Adekola, who is an officer of the Advancement unit, said the decadence needs proper campaign to orientate the youths.

He said, “many youths are addicted to one form of drug or the other and we are saying it is time for us to say no to the abuse of codeine, tramadol and drugs that kills.”

“We realize a lot of youths are losing their lives and we are saying it is time to fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. We ask everyone to join us in this fight for our future to be safe.
