To the glory of God, West Africa’s best University, Covenant, has blazed the trail once again, being ranked Top 200 by the Times Higher Education (THE) in its 2019 Young University Ranking (YUR).
In the rankings released on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, Covenant was ranked within the 151-200 bracket. Covenant is the only Nigerian University (private and public) featured in the Young University Rankings, a development that further validates her pre-eminent position as the best University in Nigeria and West Africa.
This new global ranking comes nine months after Covenant debuted in the 601-800 bracket of the THE’s flagship rankings, the World University Rankings (WUR), which comprises of all universities in the world. Covenant had since the September 2018 World University Rankings feat featured in other categories of rankings such as the African Rankings, Subject Rankings, Emerging Economies Rankings, and the Impact Rankings.
Founded in 2002, Covenant debuted in the THE Young University Rankings, which lists the World’s Best Universities that are 50 years old or younger.
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is the World’s Best Young University for the second year in a row, while École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne; Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; and Paris Sciences et Lettres – PSL Research University Paris remain in second, third and fourth place respectively.
Overall, 60 countries across Europe, Australasia, Asia, North America, Latin America, and Africa feature in the Eighth annual edition of this ranking.
