Covenant Postgraduate School begins Admission Processes, Screens Prospective Students

Admission into the postgraduate programmes of Covenant University for 2017/2018 academic session has commenced, with the screening of prospective students for the various programmes advertised by the School of Postgraduate Studies.

The screening exercise which consisted of Computer Based Test and Oral interview kicked off on Friday, May 26, 2017, for those seeking admission into programmes in the College of Science and Technology (CST) and College of Engineering (CoE). Those seeking admission into programmes under the College of Business and Social Sciences (CBSS) and College of Leadership Development Studies (CLDS) had their screening exams on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

While addressing the prospective students at the commencement of the screening exercise, the Dean of the School, Professor Samuel Wara, explained the University’s mandate, vision, mission and core values. He also enlightened them on anthem, vision 10:2022, ReCITe agenda, research clusters, publications, rules guiding the use of the PG Halls of Residence and the programmes.

Professor Wara stated that the mandate, vision, mission and other rules were put in place to guide them not to engage in the labour of the foolish which was all about pain and no gain. He added that as far as their eyes could see are what they would gain as students of the University when given admission.

“The only way to fulfil the vision,” he said, “was to create some pathways through which to get there.” The mission, therefore, is to create knowledge and restore the dignity of the Blackman via a Human Development and Total Man Concept.

He advised them not to apply eye service to their studies when given admission and obey all the rules put in place which he said, would make their time in Covenant a worthwhile.

A total of 386 prospective students are applying for MBA, Masters, MPhil/PhD and PhD in various programmes under the four Colleges of the University.
