A University of Ibadan lecturer, Dr. Wasiu Ajagbe charged Nigerian youths to do away with the axiom that “education is a scam”.
The Chairman of Nigeria Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE), Oyo State, Dr Ajagbe said that the educated ones steer the affairs of humanity while the ignorant are the downtrodden in every society.
He said this while addressing students awaiting admission into higher institution in the third Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony of the NIEE held at the Alumni Centre, University of Ibadan.
Urging parents and guardians on the implication of forcing professional paths for children, Dr Ajagbe said the behavior is having a negative effect on output of the Nigerian graduates.
He said changing professional paths or course of studies of children by parents would deter them from giving their best.
