Deutsche Welle (DW) Global Media Forum 2022 has selected four lucky winners from its ticket lottery, across the globe ahead of the two-day event scheduled to hold in Bonn, Germany.
Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim, a multiple award-winning investigative journalist, based in Nigeria, AIJC fellow and an Edutorial Reporter has been selected along three other winners.
Other winners are “Essia, Axel, and Maximilian”
This was disclosed in a personal email addressed to him and signed by Antonia Sanke of Conference Program and Online Communications Events department on May 11, 2022 and in the DW GMF newsletter of May 20, 2022, as sighted by this news platform.
“Thank you for participating in our ticket lottery. Congratulations, you are one of the winners for a free ticket to the DW Global Media Forum 2022 that takes place in June 20 and 21 in Bonn, Germany and online” Sanke wrote in the email.
While the newsletter reads: “only 4 weeks and 4 days to go until we finally get to meet again at the DW Global Media Forum in Bonn and online! We can’t wait to see you.”
“And without further ado, here are the lucky winners from the ticket lottery from the last edition of our newsletter, who will also be joining us for the conference: We look forward to welcoming Essia, Axel, Muhammad and Maximilian!”
“Thank you to everyone who took part in the lottery! It was great to hear what you all look forward to experiencing the most. Amongst all of the entries, by the way, Audrey Tang, Claudia Roth and our unique networking possibilities ranked at the top of your expectations.”
Reacting to this development, Ibrahim expressed his happiness for being the only Nigerian and probably the only African to be selected out of the four lucky winners drawn from across the globe for their best entries.
“Alhamdu lilLah I have won a ticket to participate at the upcoming Deutsche Welle (DW) Global Media Forum 2022 in Bonn, Germany on June 20 and 21,” he said.
He however added that “the forum consists of 2000+ participants, 100+ speakers from 120+ countries.”
“I also got featured on DW Global Media Forum 2022 newsletter of May 20, 2022 which I consider as something huge, after winning the event ticket from a ticket lottery recently.” He said.
“Being the only Nigerian and probably African gives me a lot of pleasure and serves as a kind of morale booster to me. I am sure what I am looking forward to at the event will help me in my career.”
