Covenant University on Thursday emerged the National Champion of ENACTUS Competition and by the feat, would represent Nigeria at the Silicon Valley, the USA in September 2019.
ENACTUS is an international organization that connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities.
The University presented two projects, TOLES and PET CITY at the event which took place at Civic Centre, Lagos Island.
TOLES is a social enterprise that aimed at providing children in impoverish communities with eco-friendly and durable footwears from used scrap tyres, while PET CITY is an initiative aimed at turning used plastic waste into suitable building materials that are cost-effective and durable.
Covenant University towered above the likes of Ahmadu Bello University, which came 2nd and 19 other institutions. Over 1000 participants attended the competition.
