GENERAL CIRCULAR
Solidarity greetings to all the distinguished members of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko Students ‘ Union.
The Attention of the students’ Union has been drawn to a purported circular cum position paper that was being released and circulated by an alien association called the ‘COUNCIL OF PAST PRESIDENTS’.
To start with, the students’ Union has a constitution that is well articulated and which clearly states the fundamental goals, objectives, powers, as well as the recognised arms of the Union. May we remind you all, that there is no place in the Union Constitution where there is a provision for an arm called the ‘Council of Past Presidents’. Hence, they have no right, privilege and even obligation at all to make any decision whatsoever on behalf of the students.
Distinguished AAUAITES, we want to urge you to please disregard anything coming from such council, because the students Union has no confidence whatsoever in their composition and judgment.
Some of them are mere opportunists who are looking for what to eat, even at the expense of the generality of the entire students in which they have once served at some points in the past. Some of them are now lecturers in the university, some of them are still lobbying on a daily basis to be employed into the university by the state government, how do we expect them to act? In our favour or that of the management and the state government?
Revolutionary colleagues, their position can be likened to those Karl Marx referred to as the vanguard party among the masses, who have been lured by fabulous gains to join the bourgeoisie in order to continue the unending exploitative tendencies of the proletariat.
Therefore, we want to use this medium to urge all students to remain firm, committed and be resolute as the Union is fully in the struggle to liberate us all from the shackles of tyranny and oppression.
Aluta continua, Victoria ascerta.
Signed;
COMR. ADESOMOJU SAMUEL O.
(SAMPRAISE)
PRESIDENT, AAUASU
COMR. ADEBAYO JESUTOLA S.
(TOLAJAY)
GENERAL SECRETARY, AAUASU.
