But for her emotion, which would not let her bear seeing people in so much pain, Motunrayo Ajia, Covenant University’s first student to have graduated with a perfect score of 5. 00 would have opted to be in the medical field, Paediatrics in particular.
The best graduate of the University in the 2018/2019 academic session said she has a natural drive to help people, particularly children, but she realised that she could not stand seeing people in so much pain.
“So, I had to go for something else, and that was where the attraction for petroleum engineering stemmed from. I could have considered biochemistry because I have always loved biology and chemistry, but I was quite sure I would get this course, especially as there is no medicine in CU yet,” she told Punch in an interview.
Motunrayo still believes that being in the Petroleum Engineering field would avail her opportunity with the funds needed to help people, especially voluntary work with children.
This is a brilliant performance and a pride to our nation.
