LASPOTECH Partners With ICCI To Promote Commerce, Entrepreneurial Ideas

Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu partnered with Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to showcase and promote domestic resources, commerce, business ideas and products within Ikorodu division and environs.

Dr Olumide Metilelu, the Deputy Rector (Academics) of LASPOTECH said this at a press briefing of the maiden edition of Trade Fair tagged “IKODIV EXPO 2021” on Wednesday in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of Trade Fair “Optimal Utilisation of Untapped Resources of Ikorodu Division for Lagos State Economic Advancement”.

Mettilelu said that the collaboration was an avenue to promote and showcase some of the researches done by some of LASPOTECH students and other participants to the participants.

“This platform will also provide a synergy between the school, industries, investors and organisations within the Ikorodu division.

“Our students from the Department of Engineering and science will showcase their project work they have been working on for the past few years.

“We plan to make this partnership with ICCI a yearly affair for commerce and economic growth and development because ICCI has a good track record,” he said.

Mettilelu also said that this trade fair would also make them develop a tourist guide for exhibitors and visitors coming to Ikorodu division.

Prof. Kunle Wahab, the President of, ICCI said that this trade fair collaboration would be exposed and attract more industries and organisations as well as increase the growth and development of LASPOTECH.

Wahab added that they would sustain this idea for the economic future of Ikorodu division.

 “Ikorodu Division is blessed with abundant human and material resources and known for the potential of growth in agriculture, properties and commerce.

 “These are the reasons why Ikorodu Division must witness a bumper pudding of a trade fair, for the taste of our numerous exhibitors and visitors who will experience more sumptuous,” he said.
