Engr. Dr Edith Alagbe completed her primary education at Payne Primary School in Benin City and obtained her secondary school certificate from the Federal Government Girls’ College, Benin City. Her academic journey continued with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (BEng) from the University of Benin, followed by an MSc and PhD from the University of Lagos and Lagos State University, respectively.

Her professional experience commenced as a Sales Engineer at Motu-Tec Ltd (Oshodi), followed by a position as a Development Chemist at African Paints Plc, Ikeja. She later served as a Maintenance Manager at Planet-Rent-A-Car (a.k.a AVI Services Ltd) and held a part-time lecturing position at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu. She is currently a Researcher/Lecturer at Covenant University, Ota.

Dr. Alagbe is a distinguished professional, holding a fellowship in the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers and memberships in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institute of Food Science & Technology (NIFST). Her active involvement in professional organizations includes roles such as Assistant National Treasurer and Welfare Officer and ex-officio of the NSChE, and she presently serves as the National Treasurer of the NSChE.

Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Alagbe is deeply passionate about encouraging the younger generation to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M). She actively organizes career talks and competitions to foster interest and develop problem-solving skills among aspiring individuals. Her contributions extend to numerous successful conferences and seminars organized by the NSChE.
