Ondo Govt Assures NYSC Of Suitable Office Facility

The General Manager, Ondo State Property Development Corporation (OSPDC), Barrister Michael Amure has assured the management of the National Youth Service Corps that the Corporation will do everything within its powers to provide suitable office accommodation for the Scheme in the state.

The General Manager gave the assurance when he received the State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple in his office during the latter’s courtesy call at the headquarters of OSPDC in Akure.

Amure, while asserting that optimal performance is a function of the type of environment where one works, said that NYSC deserved to have the best accommodation considering the quality of corps members under her watch and the galaxy of personnel working to mentor the patriotic graduate youths.

He listed the major functions of the Corporation to include provision of opportunities for indigenes and residents to acquire and owned properties, be it residential or industrial in a conducive environment, and devoid of litigation whatsoever since the services is being provided by registered government agencies with array of distinguished professionals.

He promised to leverage on the visit to work more closely with the Scheme, saying that the Corporation stood to benefit more from NYSC as it shall need the services of corps professionals in the building industry.

Speaking earlier, the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple said that it gave him serious concern that the Scheme has no befitting office it could call its own, despite the operations in the state in the last 48 years.

The State Coordinator said that his mission to the Corporation was to formally present himself as the new NYSC Ondo State boss and to make passionate appeal to the management to help the Scheme secure a conducive accommodation of its own.

“I want to appeal to the management of the Corporation to come to our aid. Statutorily, and in line with the Act which established the NYSC Scheme, it is the primary responsibility of the State Government to provide office accommodation to the Scheme to boost its operations, and this is the reason we have come directly to this Corporation, knowing full well that this is the best place where our concern would be addressed and appropriate action taken”.

He thanked the management team of the Corporation for the audience granted him, and described that as encouraging to foster cordiality and inter-agency relationships.

On the request by the Corporation for corps professionals such as Architects, Builders, Quantity and Land Surveyors, Civil Engineers and Lawyers, the State Coordinator promised to oblige them as a way to reciprocate their gesture of providing the Scheme with a befitting office accommodation.
