The Student Representative Council (SRC) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, on Friday suspended the Student Union Government President, Raji Ademola Kehinde over the sum of five thousand naira collected by him.
A statement signed by the duo of SRC Speaker, Hon. Elegbede Oluwaseun and the Clark, Omotosho Babatunde explained that the SUG President, also known as ‘kenraj’ has been suspended for two weeks and must handover to the Vice – President in order to act as the president during the suspension period.
The Council alleged that kenraj has contravened the union Constitution and must not go unpunished.
They ordered the President to remit the amount of Five thousand naira collected by him to the union account with immediate effect and the teller of the payment must be sent to the SRC through the office of the clerk.
The statement read in part, “In contravention of the article 2, section 10, sub-section 1 and article 3, sub-section 9 or article 8, section 56, sub-section 3. The house made so upturn on the vote of suspension for a month prevailed.
“But with the timely intervention of the Ag. Rector, enjoining the house to have a rethink on her stand seating posterity presidential case of (Clinton vs the USA) and the prosperity of continuity in the Government.”
You are hereby suspended for two weeks (24 January 2020 to 7th February 2020 and you are enjoined to make relief to the Vice President of the Union so as to be able to act as the Acting President” he said.
