
The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed acting
Vice-Chancellors for its two newly-established universities, Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu and Lagos State University of Education, Ijanikin and Epe.
A statement signed on Monday by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Education, Mr Tokunbo Wahab, stated that Sanwo-Olu had approved the appointments of a professor of Health Education and current substantive provost, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Prof. Bidemi Lafiaji-Okunneye, as the acting Vice-Chancellor of LASUED, Ijanikin and Epe Campuses while a PhD holder in Microbiology and current Rector, Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Dr Nurudeen Olaleye, as the acting VC LASUST, Ikorodu.
The statement said Okuneye, would be assisted by an associate professor and current provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education now University of Education, Epe, Nosiru Onibon as acting deputy VC.
It stated that Chief Lecturer, Hospitality Management Technology, Dr Olumide Metilelu, would serve as LASUST new deputy VC (Academics) while LASPOTECH’s current deputy rector (Administration) Dr Gbemavo, Kolawole Godonu, would serve as the deputy VC (Admin) of LASUST.
Wahab explained that “the two Acting Vice–Chancellors and other Management Heads would serve in acting capacities for a period of three months (90) days effective from 1st of March to 29th May, 2022 pending the appointments of substantive Vice- Chancellors and principal Officers of the Universities.”
