Senator’s Daughter Emerges Nile Varsity Best Graduating Student

The daughter of Senator Garba Yakubu Lado Danmarke, Zainab Yakubu Lado with a B.Sc (Hons) Biology emerged overall best student of Nile University, Abuja, with a GPA of 4.95.

Zainab led other 12 first class graduates to emerge the best at the 5th Convocation Ceremony of the University that produced 270 graduates with a total of 99 undergraduates and 171 Postgraduates.

While addressing the convocation, Chairman on the Governing Council. Mr Mehmet Basturk said the university was established to complement government’s efforts to make tertiary education form the bedrock of high level of workforce development.

“It is our desire to contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria by preparing and equipping young men and women with the necessary knowledge and skills for sustainable development.”

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Huseyin Sert also said that apart from impacting knowledge into students, the school in collaboration with Canadian Partners is making impact educationally especially in the IDP camps in the Northern parts of the Country, which includes Skill acquisition, General Health and Safety Training, Languages among others.

“The Nile University International Relations office is not left out in the achievements of great strides by encouraging national and international exchange programme for students among universities, thus encouraging multiculturalism among staff and students.

“We shall also double our efforts to make sure we quench admission thirst of our teeming Nigerian youths who are suffering from university admission reality,” he said.

According to him, the university in conjunction with National Universities Commission (NUC) now accepts deported students from distressed universities in Turkey adding that they are granted generous discounts in tuition fees.
