AAUA Students Urged to be Good Ambassadors

Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko have been urged to be good ambassadors of the institution.

This call was made on Tuesday during the ‘Leave a Legacy Forum’ organized by the University Advancement and Linkages Office.

The Keynote speaker, Dr.Abiola Akingbemisilu in his address, said that the students are the products of the university and should imbibe good behaviours.

He said, “When you go out there, people are always curious to know which university you came from.  You must make the university proud every time.”

He added that every student should play their roles in ensuring that the institution moves forward.

“Students are supposed to keep to the school rules and regulations and maintain the properties. This will go a long way in helping the image of the institution,” Dr. Akingbemisilu added.

Also, Mr.Adekola Louis, the convener of the program in his address enjoined students to adopt valuable means of learning.

He said, “Students must learn how to add value to themselves. While I was on this campus, my aim was to impact lives and that has helped me so much.

Mr. Adekola who is a staff of the university added that school was the best place to make an impact and get engaged in valuable things.

Another panellist, Mr. Seyi Oluwalade, an officer at the Information Protocol and Public Relations Unit (IPPRU) spoke on the role of alumni in building the university.

Mr. Oluwalade was an editor while on campus; he maintained that every graduate of an institution should always try to look back and give back.

He said, “The alumni have been in trying its efforts to help the institution and since our inauguration in about four years now, our goal is to make things better than the way we left it on campus. The university needs to play its part while the students will do its own too”.

The programme was well attended by students across different departments in the university.
