Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba- Akoko( AAUA), Ondo State, have reacted to the poor quality of network coverage on campus as it poses a threat to their studies.

The poor network coverage also affects other residential areas around the school, EDUTORIAL learnt.

EDUTORIAL also gathered that many students end up being subscribers of more than one network providers in order to tackle the academic menace.

A student, Damilola Origbemisuyi who resides close to the school lamented the poor delivery of internet service.

She noted that the problem has made calling and access to internet connection very difficult at a preferable time.

Origbemisuyi added that it has not only made studying and doing assignments difficult but also made her miss out urgent online information.

“Network providers should  upgrade their facilities,  as this will give students other options and make life more comfortable for those living around her area of residence,”

Another student, Eniayo Aluko, who resides at Medoline area, expressed dissatisfaction over the deplorable state of the network service.

She called for the need of network providers to expand their coverage to address the congestion on the networks, which has resulted in poor quality of services.

Aluko said, “It’s really frustrating to have loads of assignments to do, but you are been hampered by the poor quality of service. Most times I have to wait till late in the night before anything is done.”

A blog journalist, who makes ends meet online, Fikayo Ajayi, blamed the problem of the location of the town and not the network providers, as some other parts of the state do not face a similar problem.

He said, “The problem is because Akungba is located in a remote area. The location is bad, everywhere is surrounded by rocks.”
