APWEN Ota Organises Career Talk, Present Books To Schools

The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, Ota Chapter flagged off her APWEN 2022 calendar year with Community Development Programme through a Career Talk and  Book Presentation to Iganmode Grammar School, Ota.

 The Chairman, Engr. Dr. Imhade P. Okokpujie delivered a brief address on the “Important of the Education of the Girl Child in Engineering and STEM”.

She also unveiled the four ‘Engineering SHEROES’ who have achieved great heights in the engineering profession in Nigeria. They are, Engr. Patricia N. Opene-Odili, Ph.D. FNSE; Engr. Valerie Agberagba, FNSE; Engr. Nnoli Akpedeye, FNSE; and Engr. Felicia N. Agubata, Ph.D, FNSE.

A highlight of the programme was the presentation of complete one-term notebooks to the Best Mathematics Student of Iganmode Senior Grammar School.

Also, other students who actively participated during the career talk by asking or answering questions received 6 notebooks each. All the individual students present happily went home with one notebook each. 

APWEN Ota equally deposited 3 different textbooks to the school library.

The Principal, Alhaji Salako Olayinka, expressed amazement and appreciated APWEN for reaching out to schools in Ota Community.

The Career talk had over 200 students and 10 APWEN Ota Chapter members in attendance.

Engr. Okolpujie appreciated the ‘Engineering SHEROES’, for all they had done, noting that they were the pillars behind the achievements.
