Edutorial Reporter Joins Daily Trust Newspaper As Columnist

Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim, an award-winning journalist at Abuja Business Reports, also a reporter with the Edutorial, has been selected to serve as a columnist in the giant Nigerian daily newspaper, Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust Newspaper.

Mr. Ibrahim, also a fellow of African Investigative Journalism Conference 2020, has recently won the inaugural Lekan Otufodunrin Journalists Award 2021 beating 60 students drawn from various tertiary institutions including the FIRST university in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan.

The appointment was conveyed in an email sent to the selected columnists on July 19, 2021, on the eve of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The appointment letter reads “We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to join our membership program as a columnist. We are delighted to have you onboard.”

The appointment letter obtained by this newspaper, further stated he is “expected to write on education and career topics for our membership portal, Youthville+, and Careerville on a part-time basis.”

“Youthville+ and Careerville (the platforms you will be contributing to) serve Daily Trust’s network of professionals (early, mid-career and seniors) and students who mingle and share resources on our community portal. Your articles will serve the needs of a budding community of young and ambitious Nigerian students and professionals.”

The award-winning journalist expressed his excitement after his appointment as a columnist.

“Alhamdu lilLah! Joined Daily Trust newspaper as a columnist on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el Kabir, I have the pleasure of announcing that I have been selected as a columnist for  Media Trust Limited Nigeria, publishers of Daily Trust Newspaper, along with other prolific writers and veteran journalists who have possessed  good writing skills and have well demonstrated the ethics of journalism.” Ibrahim wrote on Facebook.

“It is with immense pleasure that I announce the receipt of this joyous email on this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration. It comes with joy. I don’t know how to express my happiness. I pray that may Allah make it beneficial to me and the ummah.”

He added that “I am very sure that this is not portraying anything else apart from my clear demonstration of truth, dedication, and hard work.”
