Ladipo Ayodeji Banjo

Emeritus Professor Ayo Banjo

Born May 2, 1934, in Oyo State Nigeria, Professor Ayo Banjo who has since distinguished himself as an educational administrator of repute started his education at St. Andrews Anglican primary school and Christ Cathedral primary school in Lagos state, Nigeria. He later proceeded to Igbobi College in Lagos state Nigeria between 1947 to 1952. An emeritus professor of English language and former vice chancellor, University of Ibadan (1984-1991), Prof Banjo won the American State Department scholarship award for a Master of Art (M.A) degree in Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles, United States of America. He later obtained a Doctorate degree (P.hD) from the University of Ibadan in 1969.
