New LASUSU President Promises To Take The Union To Greater Heights

The 32nd President, Lagos State University Students’ Union (LASUSU), Adeoye Adelakun said that his administration would consolidate and sustain on the past leader’s effort and catapult her to greater heights.

Adeoye made the promise at his inaugural lecture organised by Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo on Friday, Lagos.

He said that his predecessors had worked assiduously to erect a foundation and I am not here to abandon it for another site but to fill the cracks and strengthen the structures within.

“I acknowledge the efforts, commitments and struggles of our past leaders who fought tirelessly for the Union and remain a beacon to us.

“Without their sacrifices, it will have been a very hard ride and start point for us,” he said.

Adeoye said that he had a clear vision for this union to operate an open-door policy, hold quarterly town hall meetings, roll out opinion polls to receive feedback on their performance in office, and organise core academic programs, ideological lectures and activities for our members.

“Very significantly, we shall mobilize our members for socials, welfare, sports and cultural activities, as we hope that doing that will instil more sense of trust, confidence, love and unity in the University Community.

“Incredibly important to call for unity amongst LASUITES and the Students’ Union leaders as there’s no gainsaying the fact that, for us to succeed in our struggle for progress, we must remain united on all fronts.

“Therefore, to make boundless success and record monumental achievements, we must work together and stand in solidarity with one another.

“Let us work together; let us build together; let us bequeath a much greater LASUSU to the generations to come,” he said.
