The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has refuted the claims credited to it on the release of the 2019 UTME result, promising that it would be released shortly.

Edutorial gathered the information on the Board’s Twitter handles @JAMBHQ on Tuesday.

The Tweets read, “JAMB wishes to refute claims being credited to it on the release of the 2019 UTME. Candidates are advised that the result of the 2019 UTME would be released shortly.

“Results of the 2019 UTME are being delayed as the Board seeks to ensure that NO candidate involved in any form of examination malpractice is allowed to go unpunished.

“Candidates are, by this advised to guard their profile code and registration details jealously as unscrupulous individuals are on the prowl to dupe unsuspecting candidates

“The Board counsels all candidates to disregard messages and calls from any source claiming to have access to the Board’s classified information. Any information would be passed across via media outlets or the Board’s website jamb.gov.ng.”

Meanwhile, candidates are reacting to the JAMB tweets, many expressing displeasure on the delay of the result.

A candidate @yemistixsax tweeted, “Even paper and pencil test never took this long. CBT for that matter, abeg lets go back to the good old days jare. Ki oloun ma so wa. Lol.”

Yusuf Bello S. Sudan wrote, “I still don’t understand what JAMB mean to our result, I don’t know whether they are still watching the CCTV, May God protect the innocent people.”

Daniel McCarthy @mcdangenius replied, “Presidential election result took 3days to release, 80 million people voted o, they have to count, calculate and screen (you ain’t counting/marking anything), but here we are just 1.8 million candidates (no counting, no calculating) everything is computerised, 3 weeks gone already.”

Theo Gbadegesin @Theowonder said, “Nigeria budget delay, INEC result delay, now JAMB Result delay. Hope no padding?

Adebayo John Kehinde @007Pathfinder queried, @Why can’t JAMB just give a specific date to release the result. Even if it takes a year or two to screen the results. At least everyone will know the date to check instead of the shortly that takes 3weeks already.”
