The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Professor Olugbenga Ige has said in a meeting with all campus journalist under the umbrella of Nigeria Union of Campus Journalists (AAUA Chapter) that the students’ welfare is a priority.
In the meeting which held at the Senate Chamber of the University, he said that the welfare of the students is the priority of the school management as the school is looking into recreational materials for the students. The VC said this is in a bid for the university to continue to maintain her 21st-century university image.
Professor Ige further said that the school is interested in students pursuing their talents.
In his words, “As a school, we are interested in student pursuing talent. You don’t have to be in English studies, Mass Communication and the likes before you can pursue talents. My interest is that people should show interest in various areas like writing, entertainment, sport and so on”.
The acting VC added that he will always be accessible to every student of the University and any area that needs to be looked into should be brought to the notice of the school management.
“I admonish every student of Adekunle Ajasin University and every campus media outfit to continue to project a good image of the institution anywhere they might be as the management is really trying to make everyone comfortable and also improve the state of things,” He said.
Prof. Francis Gbore, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university who was also in attendance, further admonished every student to build a very good image of the institution they will be proud of.
